Uma Bista is a photographer based out of Kathmandu, Nepal. She works on visual narratives that focus on issues of gender inequality. She did the International Photography Program offered at Pathshala South Asian Media Institute, Bangladesh.

Bista was named in British Journal of Photography’s annual Ones to Watch 2019. She is a mentee of Women Photograph 2020, and is currently a fellow of the Magnum Foundation Photography and Social Justice Fellowship 2020. She has been working as a photojournalist for Annapurna Post National Daily since 2011.
