Traditional photography programs continue to teach students as if photography–editorial, documentary and other–is aloof and apart from the structural, economic and political transformations in the media economy that have been taking place since the early 2000s.

The MurthyNAYAK Foundation (MNF) is proud to have supported the inaugural UN/DO Photography workshop by the Polis Project, which took place in New York, in November 2019. When visual practitioners are given critical knowledge and are exposed to new ways of creating, documenting, and producing their visual work, the result is a community of socially aware and engaged photographers. This is the goal of the Polis Project and the UN/DO Photography workshop. MNF is pleased to have been able to support their work.
